Jean Vitale, Nick DeBruler, Melissa Seeling, Owners
Beef-A-Roo | Rockford, IL

One day back in 1967, Dave DeBruler and Jean Vitale were given the opportunity to purchase their first Beef-A-Roo restaurant. Despite a lack of restaurant experience, they both said 'Yes!' Beef-A-Roo has been a Rockford tradition ever since. During the last 40 years, the menu has expanded from hamburgers and fries to include chili, soup, salads, turkey sandwiches and more; the service has expanded, including drive through windows; and the locations have expanded, now with six restaurants in Northern Illinois.

During the last ten years, Beef-A-Roo’s rapid expansion has required a financial partner able to move quickly to keep up with the business’s daily needs and long-term strategy. Riverside Community Bank has provided convenient banking locations and fast response to fill that need.
“We’re constantly implementing new ideas to keep our menu and our restaurants fun and exciting,” said Nick DeBruler, one of Beef-A-Roo’s owners. “Riverside brings us innovative banking ideas to help us figure out the best solution for our deposits and loans as we grow.”
In 2007, Beef-A-Roo transitioned its ownership to four of Jean Vitale’s children. The new owners continue to use Riverside Community Bank.
“We’ve appreciated the stability Riverside brings to the table,” said Melissa Seeling, another of Beef-A-Roo’s owners. “They’ve been with us for several years, they know our history, our service philosophy and what’s important to us. They know us and we know them. It’s a very comfortable, beneficial business relationship."
